Ghermaniko Guesthouse
“Ghermaniko” is a small, authentic, traditional hotel just in front of the natural harbour of Damouchari on the East Pelion Coast in the Aegean Sea (Greece), next to the old building served as customs office in the past. The second bay the beach of Damouhari (Palia Damouchari) is at about 50 meters distance just following an easy paved path. It is housed in a more than 100 years old typical stone-built building with a rich history. It dates back to the early 20th century, around 1910. It is made only of stone and wood and fully renovated for the last time in 2018. It's the Oldest Hostel in the area and this is one of the main reasons that makes it ideal choice for travellers who seek originality, simplicity and romantism of ancient times, far from busy, impersonal and modern big hotels.
The property is two storey consisting of a reception area and 6 one-room studios, three on the 1st floor and three on the ground floor with the possibility of two studios becoming a big two-room apartment. In each room have beed given names of people who are inseparably related to the history of the Guesthouse. Its big wooden terrace on the 1st floor with a perennial vineyard that embraces and protects all the building, is considered unique in the whole area. Its rich vine, full of grapes of an old local variety called "strawberry", are gathered and harvested every year at the end of the summer offering to us a wine with a special aroma and taste.
Romy studio
Studio Romy is one of the three studios located on the first floor of the building. It is a spacious room (35sqm), ideal for couples, groups of maximum three persons or families up to four persons. It was named after the actress "Romy Schneider" who stayed in this room with her son during their holidays in Damouchari Pelion on 1974.
The room has its own terrace overlooking the sea and more precisely the magnificent Damouchari harbour right in front of it. Our visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a swim in the clear waters of the Aegean Sea only by walking few steps or relax in their "nest" listening to the sound of the sea and the waves, protected by the building's century-old vine.
Eckart studio
Studio Eckart is one of the three studios located on the first floor of the building. It is a spacious room (35sqm), ideal for couples or groups of maximum three persons. It was named after one of the two German owners "Eckart Lau" who visited for the first time Pelion region in the 60's and fell in love with East Coast and especially Damouchari village.

Irmel studio
Studio Irmel is one of the three studios located on the first floor of the building. It is a spacious room (35sqm), ideal for couples, groups of maximum three persons or families up to four persons. It was named after the actress "Irmel Hahn", a very old guest, admirer of the building and deeply beloved friend since childhood.
The room has its own terrace overlooking the sea and more precisely the magnificent Damouchari harbour right in front of it. Ulrich studio
Studio Ulrich is one of the three studios located on the ground floor of the building. It is a spacious room (35sqm), ideal for couples, groups of maximum three persons or families up to four persons. It was named after "Ulrich Steigleder" one of the two German old owners of the building who made it in the '60s the first german Hotel of the area.

Paschalis studio
Studio Paschalis is one of the three studios located on the ground floor of the building. It is a spacious room (35sqm), ideal for couples or a group of maximum two persons. It was named after "Paschalis Olkas" the father of the family that owns Ghermaniko Traditional Hotel and the one who bought the House from the German former owners in 2001.

Erastos studio
Studio Erastos is one of the three studios located on the ground floor of the building. It is a spacious room (35sqm), ideal for couples, groups of maximum three persons or families up to four persons. It was named after "Erastos Kampouropoulos" the architect and artist that took and takes care of Ghermaniko Project, part of which was also the last and final renovation of the whole Ghermaniko House.

Paschalis apartment
Apartment Paschalis is consisted of two of the three studios located on the ground floor of the building, studio Paschalis and studio Erastos. It is a spacious two-room apartment (70sqm), ideal for groups or families of maximum six persons. It was named after "Paschalis Olkas" the new owner of the old house, who started operating it officially as a Traditional Hotel, the Ghermaniko Guesthouse.

History of the building
The traditional hotel "Ghermaniko" is housed in one of the oldest buildings in the area, which has been intensively active throughout the last century.
The two-storey property was built around 1910, at a time when Damouchari, with its natural harbor, unique to the whole area, served as the supply station for Eastern Pelion. Its thorough refurbishment in 2018 (interior and exterior) respected totally the building's unique architecture giving it a fresh tone of crispness and youth.
It is fully made of Pelion stone and wood and this is one of the main reasons that makes its interior particularly durable, cool even at the highest summer temperatures and hot some cold spring or autumn nights. For deeper comfort, all rooms have air conditioning for cooling and heating, while the fireplaces in some of the studios can make the atmosphere even more intimate.
